BUSINESS INNOVATION Blockchain Project: Nike Product Traceability Program
Nike utilizes AntChain TaaS technology to provide blockchain-authenticated traceability on shoes and other products. Authenticated information appears when an NFC chip attached to the shoes or other products is scanned with a smartphone. Nike's intent for the program is to offer consumer experience enahncement and protect consumer rights.
Prior the AntChain pilot, Nike participated in the CHain Integration Project (CHIP) from the Auburn University RFID lab. It sought to prove the viability of a blockchain solution for serialized data exchange.
