The film, documenting Swift's concert tour, has generated immense excitement, with over $100 million in pre-sales, setting the stage for a remarkable theater debut.

BitPay’s cryptocurrency payment-processing service has practically become a standard for global brands and enterprises that want a quick entry into acceptance of crypto as a form of payment for goods and services. Through its relationship with BitPay, AMC allows moviegoers to conveniently purchase tickets using a variety of cryptocurrencies. Customers can access the BitPay payment option directly within the AMC app or website, and the movie theater currently accepts Bitcoin, Ether (aka ETH), DOGE, SHIB, BCH (Bitcoin Cash), XRP, and LTC (Litecoin).

With 20% of Americans owning crypto today, this option reflects the growing acceptance of digital currencies and the need for businesses to consider providing their customers with greater payment flexibility.

Although AMC was among the first and largest US-based companies to begin accepting crypto as a payment option for traditional ticket sales in November 2021, the company has been taking baby steps as it expands the scope of its program. After initially allowing for ticket purchases and gift cards with a shorter list of BitPay-supported cryptocurrencies, the theater announced the option for customers to complete their purchases with DOGE and SHIB in February 2022.
