STAKEHOLDER ENGAGEMENT Blockchain Project: AMC Theatres Cryptocurrency Payments Program
AMC Theatres uses Bitpay service to accept cryptocurrency for tickets, concessions, and gift cards. Initially, AMC allowed only allowed patrons to purchase giftcards with Bitpay (giftcards could then be used for tickets and concessions).
In 2021, the service was expanded, so that patrons could purchase tickets with cryptocurrency directly through Bitpay without the stopgap of a giftcard.
