Hyundai Teams Up With Meta Kongz To Launch NFT Community

Hyundai has announced that it’s teaming up with the Meta Kongz NFT brand in a strategic move to expand its footprint in the NFT market. This initiative includes establishing an online NFT community through dedicated Discord and Twitter channels.
This collaboration aligns with Hyundai’s overarching vision of "Metamobility," their unique interpretation of the Metaverse concept. Metamobility is the car brand’s take on digital brand experiences, according to Thomas Schemera, Hyundai Motor’s Global Chief Marketing Officer and Head of Customer Experience Division.
On April 20, 2022, a collection of 30 exclusive "Hyundai x Meta Kongz" NFTs will be available for purchase to celebrate the special occasion in Hyundai's future vision. There are plans for additional collaborations throughout the year to expand the company's "NFT universe."
Like many car companies whose fans rely on nostalgic and iconic models (e.g., Ford and the Mustang), Hyundai’s history involved a concept car known as the Pony Coupe that was conceived by Italian designer Giorgetto Giugiaro in 1974. Now, in 2022, the company’s NFTs represent mashups of the old and the new: the Pony Coupe from the past and futuristic apes from NFT artist Meta Kongz.
In an article covering Metabolity by Hyundai, this concept “centers on the theme of ‘Expanding Human Reach’ and covers a whole raft of ideas — including AI, autonomous driving, and the Mobility of Things (MoT), where inanimate objects will gain mobility through robotics. Its ultimate goal is to utilize robotics and the metaverse to affect real-world changes.”
