Ordinals are a system for assigning serial numbers to satoshis (sats) and an open source project with an index that communicates with a Bitcoin Core node to track the location of all satoshis, a block explorer, functionality for inscribing satoshis with digital artifacts and a manual. These digital artifacts are comparable to NFTs and can be tracked and traded.
