Milestone Date: November 29, 2020
To celebrate the opening day of “Spider-Man: No Way Home,” members of AMC Stubs Premiere, AMC Stubs A-List, and/or AMC Investor Connect who purchase tickets to see the movie on opening day will be eligible to receive a limited-edition Spider-Man: No Way Home NFT.
There will be 90,000 NFTs produced with over 100 NFT design options. Qualified members will receive instructions for redeeming their NFT via email. The NFTs will be redeemable at a dedicated site that will be operated by WAX blockchain.
“Our AMC Theatres guests and our AMC Entertainment shareholders have been calling for AMC to get into the world of NFTs, and we couldn’t imagine a more perfect way to start doing so than with our good friends at Sony Pictures,” said AMC Theatres chairman of the board and CEO Adam Aron.
This is the first NFT promotion of its kind by an enterprise movie entertainment company. As more enterprises continue to adopt blockchain technology, we may begin seeing marketing moves that include NFT collectibles during a product launch.
