AMC Rewards Investors With 500+ Million Free NFTs

The “I Own AMC” NFTs are tradable, and they also offer discounts to holders and other benefits that have yet to be disclosed. The NFTs were minted on WAX, a blockchain that specializes in high-volume applications like NFT drops. AMC previously partnered with WAX when it gave limited-edition Spider-Man NFTs to members who purchased tickets to an opening day screening for “Spider-Man: No Way Home.”

AMC doesn’t seem to be slowing down its Web3 dreams. The company has hinted at its exploration of creating its own cryptocurrency. "There are a lot of reasons why AMC could be a successful issuer of cryptocurrency as well as a redeemer of cryptocurrency. That's just one of half a dozen ideas that we're working on right now," said AMC Theatres CEO Adam Aron to CNBC.
