Crown Royal Files Web3 Trademark

On May 10th, 2022, the Canadian whiskey label Crown Royal filed for Web3-related trademarks that hint at the brand’s interest in the metaverse, blockchain, and NFTs.
The trademark filing of its name “CROWN ROYAL” suggests the brand is seeking to create retail store and entertainment opportunities in the metaverse, as well as offering virtual whiskey, clothing, footwear, performances, and art exhibitions. It also hints at the company’s interest in creating blockchain-based video games.
