Vincenzo Sospiri Racing (VSR) is a GT racing team backed by Lamborghini. VSR announced a partnership with Go2NFT and blockchain platform Skey Network to use NFTs to certify racing car parts and monitor their quality.
Former racing champion Vincenzo Sospiri said, “This also brings great responsibility to ensure that we can securely authenticate and audit every part of our racing fleet to monitor performance and ensure provenance.”
VSR is also looking to leverage NFTs to authenticate official branded merchandise and assure customers that their branded merchandise has not been counterfeited.
“We believe that NFT utility can help create more trust and transparency for brands and their fans. This project with VSR is just the start of many such co-operations for beloved brands across the globe,” said Boris Ejsymont, an executive at Go2NFT.
The world of racing is no stranger to NFTs – McLaren Racing announced its digital platform, McLaren Racing Collective, in 2021. Using NFTs to authenticate VSR’s racing parts can open up a proven new use case for motor, racing, and even big consumer brands in the future.
