McLaren Racing Announces New Digital Platform: McLaren Racing Collective
Milestone Date: October 20, 2021
McLaren Racing has announced the McLaren Racing Collective, a digital platform that serves as a global community for its collectors and fans. Through this platform, enthusiasts can purchase McLaren Racing digital collectibles in the form of non-fungible tokens (NFTs).
As the primary hub for engaging with the brand, the platform offers an opportunity for fans and blockchain enthusiasts to connect with McLaren Racing. The inaugural release will showcase various digital elements derived from the McLaren Racing CAD system, featuring components of the MCL35M 2021 Formula 1 race cars.
Upon joining the McLaren Racing Collective, fans will receive the initial digital components as a complimentary gift. They will also have the opportunity to collect individual or multiple components that will be released gradually. Fans that accumulate all 22 of the different components will be able to assemble and complete a digital version of McLaren’s MCL35M race car. The release of collectibles will occur in five stages, with the first four components set to be available on October 24, 2021.
The McLaren Racing Collective operates on Tezos, an energy-efficient blockchain that is the team's Official Technical Partner. In collaboration with McLaren, Tezos has crafted these limited digital assets, enabling fans to establish a direct connection with the brand and immerse themselves in the McLaren experience.
