Continuing to implement its digital strategy and explore the Web3 landscape, Puma launched the “Super PUMA” NFT collection on February 22, 2023, to coincide with the brand’s anniversary.

The collection showcased the brand's beloved puma character in scenarios inspired by its 1970s comic books and iconic sporting achievements. Fans were invited to own a part of Puma’s legacy while integrating into the Web3 sphere, with the brand’s first “PFP Collection” – NFTs specifically designed to be set as social media avatars and a form of a user’s online self-expression. Across the blockchain industry, the phrase “PFP” stands for “profile picture.”

The drop was broken into phases, where each week, Puma posted a new animation and comic across the brand’s social media channels and Discord. This four-week campaign led up to the official mint on February 22nd.

The collection consisted of a total of 10,000 NFTs, with a limited supply of 4,000 available to the public for a price of 0.15 ETH.

The PFP Collection complements Puma’s other ongoing NFT project, the Nitro Collection. All existing Nitro Collection NFT holders were airdropped as a free Super PUMA asset. The remaining 2,000 were reserved for a partnership with 10KTF, a Web3-native online store for apparel and collectibles.

Puma is the first traditional brand to join the 10KTF platform. In doing so, It enabled holders to display their NFTs on 10KTF pages and partake in 10KTF missions.

This initiative underscores Puma’s continued ambition to integrate the physical and digital realms, previously highlighted through its development of the “Blackstation” metaverse, the debut of the New York Fashion Week Nitro Collection, and the ENS domain registration of Puma.eth.
